Five Belmont Seniors Headline at the 2nd Music City All-Star Classic
Think you have missed your last chance to see Alex Renfroe flash across the court, or to watch Andy Wicke sink it from downtown? Luckily for us, Shane Dansby, Matthew Dotson, Henry Harris, Alex Renfroe, and Andy Wicke will play one final time in the Curb Event Center, Saturday, April 18 at 6 p.m.
Aside from a chance to see Belmont seniors in their final college game, those who come will also have the chance to see Belmont play along side and against college basketball stars from across the state. Three ETSU players, including Kevin Tiggs, will be playing on the other side of the ball against the five Bruins who haven’t seen Tiggs and company since they broke their ten game winning streak in the A-Sun Confrence tournament and kept them out of the big dance.
A slam-dunk and three-point shooting contest will round out the night. Ticketmaster will be selling adult tickets to the event for $10. Students can get theirs for half that.

The Bruins hosted Florida Gulf Coast to a down right dangerous game. Tornado and thunderstorm warnings stop the game short of nine but with enough game played to call it.
Derek and I went downtown Saturday night to film Earth Hour. We tried to get a feel for what Nashville thought about the symbolic gesture of turning off non-essential lights for a hour and the gist of it is that everyone has mixed feelings on the whole thing. Instead of using the broadcast cameras, we used the Vision’s little HD cameras, Final Cut Express and Vimeo. Vimeo does a much better job of compressing HD video than YouTube, although there are limits to how many HD videos you can upload in a week (1) and how big the files can be (500MB per week).
I also uploaded it to Current. I kinda doubt that it’ll get picked for TV, but it’s entirely possible. You might be able to help that happen if you go to the video there and vote it up.
Belmont beat Mercer with a buzzer-beater Thursday and won the chance to advance in the Atlantic-Sun Tournament.
After beating the Hilltoppers in Kentucky the day before, Belmont hosted at Shelby Park on Wednesday. Senior Derek Wiley said, “For as long as I can remember, we have always split the series with Western Kentucky.” This year was no different. Watch the full game recap below.
Last night Jon Stewart and “The Daily Show” poke a little fun at Twitter and other social media being used by members of the media and congress. In a response to lawmakers Twittering during an Obama speech last week, Samantha Bee sounds-off about her personal social media use.
Derek Moore and Cody Badaracca hosted a Blogtalkradio show following the “Facebook to Twitter: Rights, Rules, and Realities of Social Media” Convocation last night. They interviewed panelists and audience members from the event.
