Twestival – Tweeting for a good cause

Tomorrow, February 12, over 175 cities around the globe will celebrate Twestival and attempt to raise $1 million for innovative non-profit charity:water.

Charity:water was founded by Scott Harrison, who after a year of being a photo journalist in West Africa, started charity:water to bring drinkable water to people in developing nations across the world.

  1. This event is interesting because the promotional is really harping on the fact that users of Twitter can get to physically meet their Twitter followers and the Twitters you follow. It seems this is something other social networking tools haven’t particularly emphasized before. I’m doing an interview tonight with Chery Bak, a Belmont alum and a Twesival attendee, to see what it was like from a meet your Tweet perspective.
